Bring-A-Friend Benefit

Have you loved being a student at Regent College? Bring a friend (or two) who is new to Regent College, enjoy a Summer Programs course together, and you’ll each receive one-third off your tuition for that course.

Download and submit the Bring-A-Friend Benefit Application form (available February 20) with your course registration.

To qualify for this benefit:

  • You (the student) must have taken an on-campus course at Regent College, for credit or for audit, prior to May 2012.
  • Your friend must never have taken an on-campus course before.
  • Both you and your friend must register for your common course, and submit a Bring-A-Friend Benefit Application, by 4:30 pm on Friday, May 4, 2012.
  • Both you and your friend must register for and attend the same course, and you will both receive 1/3 off your tuition for that course, whether for credit or for audit. You and your friend can each take the course for a different number of credit or audit hours.
  • This offer applies to only one Summer Term course (Spring Session and Summer Session) per friend, and cannot be combined with any other tuition benefit in the same course.
  • You may bring a maximum of two friends to the same course, although you will still only receive a total of 1/3 off your course tuition.

Audit or Credit

Taking a course for audit
This means that you will attend the class for personal enrichment only, you do not need to complete the assignments, and you will not be graded.

Taking a course for credit
This means that you will complete all assignments, be graded, and can use these credits towards a diploma or degree.

  • Credit hours: Spring and Summer courses are usually offered for a choice of credit hours. You can choose to earn more or less credits, based on workload. One-week courses are normally 1 or 2 credit hours, and two-week courses are 2 or 3 credit hours. Some exceptions do apply, so you must check the specific course you're interested in for details.
  • Workload: Each credit hour corresponds to approximately 45 hours of work, in the form of class lectures, readings, and assignments.

Eligibility

If you have an accredited undergraduate degree: You can take up to 12 credit hours overall (maximum of 6 credit hours in any given term) without having to apply for admission to the College.

If you do not have an accredited undergraduate degree, but are at least 23 years of age: You can audit most classes, but not take courses for credit.

If you do not have an accredited undergraduate degree, but are at least 30 years of age: You can take most courses for credit (up to the maximum of 12 credit hours),
